Pandora has been under the care of The Sapient since she was a young child. This is the life that she knows. Review A.C. Heller "chance" sacrifice series no. 2
This installment is mostly from Aidens point of view, and Pandora.
Its very well thought of! Pandora was described briefly in the first book.
Again the story is head on!
We meet Dora who's lived almost all of her life with the sapients, her parents were killed when she was six and ever since she's been with her captures. She has a very dangerous ability, which her captures have been using.
She's saved by Aiden ( and the others off course ) and their connection is instant! Uhh love is in the air! Right from the start Aiden feels this protectiveness toward her, a feeling he's never had before.
Ah and a nice touch to it all is that Aidens sister "maddix or smoke" has finally shown up. The group is trying to find her, so they can recruit her.
In contrary to book no, 1 this one has a little more going on to it. More questions arises as the book progresses.
At first I just thought this to be another love story ( yeah I'm a sucker for that) but yes, we have fierce love BUT these books have some under lying agenda in it!
"Chance" ends with a little spoiler ) "it is the secrets Maddix would never admit that has the potential to change things. Or more accurately, someone."
A.C. heller has a great writing style, and everything comes clearly trough to mind.

So right off the bat, I see my favorite characters. Aiden, Chasca, Takeo and Angelo. Once Chapter 2 hits, BAM! HOOKED!!! The conflict is introduced right then and there. And then Chapter 3 hits, and the very much anticipated meeting is before us. AIDEN AND DORA <3
So Aiden takes Rejection like a champ. He liked Chasca, but after she started dating Takeo, he shrugged it off and moved on and STILL is her best friend. What a boss. He's still a firm believer on finding his other half of his soul, and there comes Dora.
Dora has been locked up in a cell for a very long time. Being tortured into using her deathly pestilence powers. She is a very dangerous weapon. She may be broken, but she has hope. And here comes in her very handsome savior, Aiden. And the connection they share is undeniable.
So with The Sapient after her, Aiden will stop at nothing to protect this beautiful girl he is absolutely smitten by. AN all new protective instinct that he has never felt before takes over. But the thing is, she feels the same way. Dora will not let anything happen to her friends, especially Aiden. ANd she is willing to sacrifice herself in order to do so.
One thing i noticed that really gave Heller MAJOR style points is the story of Daethan and Xanthia. Think about it people. It starts off in past tense. Then it switches to present tense as he tells the story. That's odd. Maybe it's an error the author made??? Think again. The newcomers arrive to seek vengeance against their fallen brother. But one stands to the side. The silent one merely watches in the sidelines. Hmmmm, who does that remind you of???? [is it possible that Damiano was that newcomer and witnessed the story unfold before him? And maybe when he tells that story he actually got lost in his memories and began telling it as if he was watching it all over again for the first time? (hide spoiler)]
Now. Let me talk about how AWESOME the invention of the AER (Adorable Exploding Robots). It is so ridiculous, that it's genius! You can talk to it and stuff and they explode!!!! Haha. And the kooky innovator behind the AER, Al, is just hilarious.
"You can hold conversations with it if you want. Just no baths for this little guy." Al zones out for a moment and continues muttering. "Learned that the hard way."
and then one trend you usually notice with Al's inventions is that they usually explode.
From the back of the group, Al mutters quietly to us. "I made that." No other words are needed. Everyone collectively takes a huge step back.
Hahaha. God! I love this series. I mean it has action, a little bit of humor, amazing characters, and steamy romance too ;) And Damiano's philosophical pondering ties everything up in a nice little bow.
I have talked to Heller about the spelling, grammar, and formatting errors in this book. Yes, there were lots, but I am glad to report that a new edition was just released and all these issues have been addressed.
So overall, despite the errors, I have to say I loved it. I think it was better than Fate. And this book deserves five stars. Though if i were to penalize Heller for her errors, I would give this book three stars. It was VERY good. Congratulations A.C. Heller, you've written yourself a damn good book.

This was an alright book, I liked the concept and the love story was okay. It was a little confusing how it switched to a different point of view for several different characters.
Chance was an interesting story. I enjoyed the plot and characters. Nicely done!
What a great story. Its main character who needs to control her abilities to curtail the terror and devastation it could bring. She starts living a normal life, behind which hide her powers. That itself was an amazing plot which makes it quite a page turner. Great plot and awesome storytelling.
This is an interesting book that combines a bit of the supernatural with what feels like real life. I found the characters realistic and the writing style amazing. I wish it wasn't in parts, but you don't have to read the others in order to understand the story and that is a definite plus. I think this is an author to go to for an amazing and entertaining read.
